WEEK ONE: Intros! Thursday Greg Cohen

Hello, group!

My name is Greg, and I am from New York. I am fourteen and have two older brothers and one younger sister. I live in New York City in an apartment with my mom. It can get a little crazy with all of us in the house (my brothers and I like to fight a lot), but being right in the city makes it all worth it. On weekends my mom takes us all to Central Park where we can play football and fly kites. We often get to eat something at the vendors or grab some ice cream while we’re there, which is always the best part of our trips.

My friends would describe me as very outgoing. I would also think that they would describe me as athletic. I play on a football team in my area and my dad came to watch me a couple times and he says that I’m pretty good. I’m the quarterback for my team, and last year my team came in first in our league. While my friends would most likely say these things about me, they would probably have no idea that I really like learning about biology. I know it’s hard and that I will be in school for a long time, but I really want to be a doctor when I grow up. My dad is a doctor in Africa helping kids who don’t normally have access to doctors, and I think I might want to do that, too.

In my spare time, I really enjoy listening to music. I really like rock music, but not the stuff on the radio. It’s overplayed anyway. I really like Modest Mouse and OK GO. I’ve posted a few videos to give you an idea of what I like. The video for OK GO is one of my favorites.

  1. Oh my gosh, Greg, that last music video is hilarious! I really like the "OK Go" too, but my favorite band is "Matt and Kim". Have you ever heard of them? They're pretty indie, but their stuff is so fresh. Give them a listen, Greg, I think you'll like them.
